Thanks for clarifying—that makes total sense. An additional quad, at least for filtering out +1s, would definitely be beneficial without any obvious downsides (at least theoretically; though I’m not sure about the practical or technical implications).

Isn't ion mobility capable of resolving different charge states, especially +1, too?

Heard Stefan Tenzer's lecture on LC-MS proteomics/immunopeptidomics during my Master's in Mainz. It was eye-opening after a genetics-focused Bachelor’s and led me to his lab for my thesis, and I’m still here as a postdoc. The Brixen Proteomics Summer School was also a key moment!
