Foodshelves have been emptied. People are afraid to leave their homes. Homes & cars have been destroyed. They're letting people "go" a thousand miles from home, with no way to get back to Minnesota.

The issue is... so much damage has been done, it'll take ever so long to heal. People have died. Others have been kidnapped and are STILL locked up in Texas. Our schoolkids don't feel safe. Small businesses are destroyed. Larger businesses have been damaged - nobody is untouched.

Baked sourdough cornbread and browned-butter chocolate chip cookies this morning. We're having a movie party tonight when he gets out of work, to celebrate the end of this polar vortex. This one's been nastier than most, even for us!

It's coming through tonight. We sheltered in Steven's friends' basement LAST night for severe weather... looks like we're going back tonight. So much for resting & recuperating.
