Trump/Musk are currently illegally blocking funding for the University of Maine because Trump doesn't like to Maine's governor. Voting no on the appropriations bill is a key way to get leverage to enforce the law. Why would King just surrender?
I dunno, man. Seems like Elon's already been shutting down the government in a pretty painful and totally unconstitutional way. Maybe don't play it off as that being better.

Trump is slashing another 1,000 jobs at NOAA.
