The discourse on my news feed this time around is totally different. I've seen nothing but positive remarks about today. Very different from last time and very telling!

I've noticed since I switched products to primarily those that either avoid political donations/lobbying (and some were products I've used in the past) that they are not on the shelves a lot. Sold out. I'm thinking the boycotting is still working?

We giving Unilever the Disney treatment, right?

I know everything is ashit show right now and it's a stupid thing to be upset about, but I've been handraising three puppies since they were two weeks old and now they are old enough for forever homes and I'm nervous. I'm just supposed to hand them over to total strangers and trust they'll be fine?

I know EVERY thing is not ok, but don't forget to celebrate the things that are, like your friends and non-cult family, glorious weather, and the fact that we can listen to Reputation again. Happy Saturday!

Just saw an absolutely disgusting ad featuring the dog killer and pleas to turn in people to ICE on Hulu. Filed a complaint, I hope everyone else does, too. I'm just disgusted. #hulu

We are still boycotting, right? (You know, if you can) We can't give up now. We got this.

There's a lot going on right now so don't forget to find the joy in everyday moments. Found myself with a couple extra hours this morning and just cleaning while blasting TTPD was exactly what I needed.

There's a lot of conversation going on about another war and the military being used against US citizens. It's starting to get to me. How are y'all feeling?

Y'all remember post election when Black women were telling white women to gather our people and do better? Because I do and some of y'all need to get your shit together and do the work, even if you're still angry. That 92% that tried to save us are right. Swallow your rage and get to work.

I've been in a funky, which is normal for the downfall of our civilization but apparently all I needed to feel better was the lyrical genius of my lord and savior Taylor Swift. Seriously, thank God for her. #taylorswift #ttpd

To the similarly shaded folks, I am seeing a lot of anger and disgusting toward ww who have "seen the light" or whatever. Our assignment was clear-get our house in order. It is exhausting and it takes more time and energy than we want it to, but that is our job. If we turn our backs because...

I wasn't a political science major, but this is...this is treason, right? We are watching it happen live from the white house?

It has been surprisingly easy to cut walmart and Amazon from our lives. The hardest is a good hardware store.

So what apps/sites are y'all using to determine what brands to buy? I've been using Goods and checking out opensecrets. Any recs? #votewithyourdollar

I cut up my cucumber and divided them into their little snack containers. I went to grab one only to discover that instead of the fridge, I put the little containers back in their cupboard. Perimenopause is super fun, y'all 😂

Sometimes I forget and go over to smacesmook and open the comments and then I remember why I deleted that app.
Anyhoo, I think Jason Bateman needs to be cast as a serial killer. He was amazing in Carry-On. Happy Sunday!

Behind on my updates! I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. I was unprepared for the emotional toll but it was worth it. @libbyapp.bsky.social

Just finished The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henríquez. Challenged because of its portrayal of immigrant struggles in US. Complex, sad, and beautiful.

This year for my banned and challenged reading I've also read Feed by M.T. Anderson. Extremely relevant, i recommend this read. @libbyapp.bsky.social @thestorygraph.com

What I've read: Black Boy, Richard Wright
This book has been challenged for numerous reasons, and you should definitely read it. It's a beautifully and heart-crushingly written autobiography. I read it through Libby, the library app.

Every year on my birthday I start *my* New Year. That includes picking a type of book to focus on for that year. This year I chose banned and challenged books (total coincidence to current circumstances). I'm going to post what I read as a way back into social media!
