We send £1bn a year to the board of peace, let’s fund our NHS instead. Time to hire a bus!

Absolutely this. I’ve been feeling for a while that all the extreme nationalism felt off, unnatural. All this right wing extremism is coming in straight from the US. True British right wing extremism would be much better than this.

We are further away from Austin Powers than Austin Powers was from the 60s.

But comrade (what is the brexity version of comrade? Old bean?) we haven’t tried “real Brexit”. I forget was that Max Fac or WTO Brexit?

Infuriating. The idea that any idyllic village of 500 people isn’t just all old people with families priced out years ago is insane. Also where would 1000 people even park.

N.A.M Rodger’s 3 volume history of the Royal Navy, especially the middle one if you like the Patrick O’Brian novels.

If you haven’t read any of the Vorkosigan saga by Louis McMaster Bujold highly recommend as a sci-fi series

It’s going to empower people to build things and prototype and iterate incredibly quickly. It will be a force multiplier for expertise rather than replacing it. The AI could never have had these ideas. From now on any time you think “wouldn’t it be good if…” there’s a fair chance the AI can build it

I was sceptical until this week when two members of my team showed me analysis tools they’d built in AI. Ideas they’d had for ages but never had the development resources or coding skills to make a reality. They described it to an AI model and it built it for them. Tweaked countless iterations.

It’s in the price already. Term premium is high, reflects expectations of worsening deficits (partly at least, it’s mostly just making up explanations to fit the facts, but this narrative is pretty widely accepted).

There is a moment, when you’re sat in your chair with a drink, the sun turning golden in the evening, the fire going and the kids are tearing around a field with new friends, in sight, but far enough away that you can’t hear them; but it’s just that moment. The night’s going to be rough.

Great, thanks for replying. So hard to pick up the Xs and Os when you haven’t grown up with it.

Hi Nate, sorry to sound dumb - I’m not as clued up on this as I should be, but in my defence I only saw my first football game at 33. Am I supposed to be watching Bucs 67 and 41? And the point of attack is the defensive lineman or the gap for the runner?

I love this, now if only I could borrow some friends who could reliably show up to board game night.

I really wish the UK would absorb Chinese electric cars, I want to drive a 400 mile range future-mobile for half the price of a VW
