i recently rescued and adopted a kitten, pluto 🐈‍⬛️, and am requesting assistance on paying for his vet bills as he gets older and starts needing to get vaccinations/boosters/fixed/etc. i am disabled, unemployed, and live off #mutualaid

A vet bill, heavily redacted to not include personal info, for "Pluto". The total is for $68 after an examination was done, and a reminder can be seen below the total to return in one year for another examination. A register-printed receipt is stapled to the paper, also displaying the total.

A bill, from Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center. The billed services are for the FVRCP (3 week) booster, and the Strongid dewormer. The total cost comes out to $34 after accounting for the earlier deposit when the appointment was scheduled.

Pluto, when he was first rescued, at 3-4 weeks old. He is a tiny black kitten, huddled on top of a white woven mat staring into the camera in fear.

Pluto, a black kitten, now 8 weeks old, blepping at the camera. He is much happier and more comfortable in his new home as opposed to when he first was rescued, as is growing very healthily.

i do understand this... you and i also are in different spaces tbf, and i am largely this way with Everything Else. ffxiv is just an mmo so its like, (gestures at the multiplayer part of my massively multiplayer online game)

i tried to build a community myself, but the long and the short of it is that i had a falling out with some of the folks i tried building that space with through very little real fault of my own, and that combined with outside parties fucking with everything it just ruined my capacity to participate

yeah... maybe. ive been thinking over it a lot. the game itself certainly feels a lot different, inside and out. it just doesnt feel as friendly as before, and thats not even getting into all of the actual problems the community itself has basically nonstop

i think ive just had very very bad luck trying to find people to write with or even just be friends with beyond the barriers of socmed here unfortunately. and it's really negatively colored my outlook on the game, esp since its... a social game, it's meant to be played socially, yknow? idk. im tired

for fellow xiv folks; how have you been able to stay in love with the game, in spite of just... how bad the community has gotten? i wont get into what ive had to deal with, but what i will say is i've been on a hiatus lately for a reason. and idk how to come back.

real answer: they shock me frequently when i do write them in that they will, genuinely, do whatever they want, often against my expectations. they lean far more towards empathy and, often even, jealousy and hurt, than i thought. it's fun!
