I didn't start work yesterday until 13:45, so I don't know.

Related, kinda: I was talking to a French person in France, two days ago. They mentioned that Trump is getting more press there than Macron. ::sigh:: We're such a shitstain on the planet.

I'm re-reading the series! 😁 Currently in book 5! 👍

(When the video series was on, I had my hairs styled like TV Miller!)

I'm inside the Seattle city limits, and hearing fireworks is what prompted me to look at what happened! 😁

Nope! Put me on the train!

LFG!

OMG, yes!

In practice, this is difficult to implement because operators (and supervisors) prefer runcards.

During my shift I'll typically adjust departure times to maintain headways after blockages / delays. It is definitely more work! It depends on who the operators are, on any given day.

5min at Denny, per contract, plus restroom opportunity.

5min at Occidental, which most of the time is a fallback to different operator.

And during the daytime we are ABSOLUTELY using those minutes to recover from delays.

During my shift there are typically 3–5 blockages lasting 10+ minutes.

For 12-minute headways all day, we'd need six functional trams. 401 is currently dead-dead.

Also, the batteries have aged to the point where we BARELY can cobble together five functional ones.

Ohhh, wow, really? I didn't realise that INIT had that sort of modules!

(Seattle Streetcar is currently installing some INIT equipment on our trams. I was yesterday—and will be today—working my way through the dispatcher/coordinator manual. It's only 200+ pages! 😁)

If they add some of the wire "hats", then putting the poles up takes even less time! (Although, I used to step out just to visually make sure before I departed!)

Anything that can shove our local star around is a'ight in my book.

My friend @velobusdriver.bsky.social has a setup in their condo!

I get to tell trams when to go!

(I mean, most of the time they just go on a schedule! But I get to authorise every operator who starts their workday.)

😉 I thought I had a cool haircut when I was 14!

I'm GenX, but I'm not sure I've ever been cool? But thanks?

Whoa, there! Let's not be too hasty, now!

(Down-thread comment about groups is valid. That feature has definitely saved me from having to actually close any tabs!)

Who amongst us, in our younger years, has not performed extremely dodgy acts with fire?
