The American remake is very close to the original. I think there was a brief scene or two that wasn’t in the American version but other than that, very faithful. Probably why you wouldn’t remember it if you saw it.

Or that he helps people.

This is excellent advice and how I’ve come to run my games over the years. Another benefit of this kind of communication is that it ends up easing the work load of the GM. Your players are telling you what they want. Give it to them. You’ll know exactly what to do every session.

Astro City is, hands down, the best superhero book you’ll ever read. Character driven and reverential to comics, it’s just amazing. The Nearness of You and Confession are my two favorite comic stories of all time.

I saw this before Zatoichi too. Once I discovered some of those awesome samurai movies, Blind Fury made a little more sense.

Blind Fury. Rutger Hauer as a blind swordsman. Late 80’s action. I’d actually be surprised if anyone other than me saw this one.

I was shoveling snow off my driveway when the snow plow truck came by. Instead of being mad that the snow was pushed back, I ended up chatting with the truck driver. He cleared the bottom of my driveway. I never had snow blocked driveway again.

I’m running an X-Files style conspiracy investigation game. Per the rules, I give them intentionally vague clues and they craft the solution to the mystery at the end. Every time I give them a new clue, they ask for details. Then I remind them it’s their job to provide the details at the end.

The Nearness of You is my favorite comic story. It also comes in the trade for Confession, my second favorite. Definitely a book you should have on your shelf. I consider Astro City the best superhero there ever was. It does everything superhero just perfectly.

Yeah, taking that first step can be overwhelming. It takes practice to get better and you’ll always learn something new. Taking those first steps and figuring out what works for you is key though. That and learning to actually listen to the people at your table. Lots of GMs don’t listen.

I really like this structure. It provides some guidelines and solid terms to help you structure a game, particularly if you’re new to RPGs. I’ll add a layer and say that during your session zero, pay attention to your player signposts. They’ll tell you what they want to face and do.

I just got this one for Christmas! I’ve just dipped my toe into it but it’s very cool! Looking forward to really getting into it.

As it is now, I just have to try a game and see how long it takes. Sometimes I need a backup game if something is on the shorter side. Sometimes a game can go for hours. Even just a little note from the game creator about what they have in mind for a session length would help me plan.

I sincerely hope they show him making a green Flowbee with his ring.

I’d add Kryptonite by Darwyn Cooke and Tim Sale and Superman: Redemption by Kurt Busiek. This is a list of bangers though.

Superman is my favorite and I’m so excited for this! That saving the little girl scene is just magical.

The fact that he snores just somehow makes him more adorable.

In the craziness of the old Marvel game, I randomly rolled a being made of light. Then I rolled that the rating for his light body was poor, so he barely existed. I named him The Dim Bulb. He was hilarious and my group still talks about him 20 years later.

I start off with a shower. Then coffee and oatmeal for breakfast. I help my boys get ready for school, packing their lunches. My wife takes our youngest to daycare and I get our oldest on the bus. Then work.

I’d like to but there are some mixed households in my family. I’m not inclined to let the bad people keep me away from the good. Though I’ll probably end up causing a scene, so stay tuned!
