This Red-breasted Nuthatch is much more shy and elusive than it's larger, white-breasted cousins. It makes infrequent visits to the feeder, dutifully waiting for a turn, then quickly plucking a seed, and never staying for longer than a few seconds. #birds #wildlifephotography #canada #parrysound

This Painted Suillus is apparently edible, although don't take my word for it (I didn't try it). Suillus are part of a unique genus within the Bolete family. This is the only one of these species I've found on the property. #fungifriends #fungi #mycology #naturephotography #parrysound #canada
