relief and amazement, as I sat in that exam and in the straight after excitedly trying and failing to explain it to my friends. It was just suddenly clear how it worked. I got an A in that General Studies exam! Put a quadratic equation in front of me 25 years later and I'm back to not having a clue!

I remember trying to study for them but it never really worked so I just assumed I'd tank those sections. Come the day of the exam and I was going through the questions, got to the quadratics and...I just knew how to do them! I couldn't and still can't explain it but I can still feel the sense of

It's now gone for me but I remember really struggling with Maths at GCSE level (c16 years old) and just about scraped a B in the lower tier paper. Quadratic equations were my nightmare. At A-level (c18 years old) we had to do General Studies which included some maths, including quadratic equations.

In fairness it was a bit of a hot-take from me as I was getting into work so not actually looked in detail about turnout etc. It's pretty shocking though, and arguably the more important story than the inevitable collapse of the Tory vote to Reform. Not a fan of Farage's but no doubting his nous.

Not sure I agree with that. Yes the margin suggests if they'd convinced a literal handful to stay with them then they'd have retained the seat. But "look the hardest"? No, they need to look the hardest at why a massive majority of their voters walked straight over to Reform

That feels fair. I felt it was a little unlucky getting 2 nutmegs for the goal but Pope should probably have got it. Would Dubs? God knows but not sure he'd have had that heart attack moment with Salah!
