hahaha well you chose the right profession then, it sounds like.

makes sense though. I often hear writers say, if you want to write, you must read, and read A LOT.

have you read anything else that strikes a chord?

I'm just working thru The Nice House on the Lake.
i recently read Tynion & Simmonds' Dracula - which was really interesting. especially after seeing Nosferatu in theatres.

hmmmm that's an interesting point. when you put it that way, yep i can totally relate. I'd probably prefer that too.

oh wow, this is an amazing recco! thank you!!! i will definitely give it a try.

i'm generally suprised to even be going down this path. I cant recall why i even tried the Lincoln Lawyer book. Lawyer and Detective and crime fiction was not something i'd known i'd even like.

fair. This is hard these days, but when possible, I try to avoid what creators might say, whether it's about their creations, or just, in general.

Not sure if that's right or wrong... i find it (obviously) colors my experience of whatever content they're putting out.

also, thank you for this comprehensive breakdown of the characters and the books they're in hahahah

AND, i'm stoked to hear another Haller novel is coming out this fall!

i just had my introduction to Terry McCaleb in A Darkness More Than Night.
It was interesting to have him in the same story as Harry, and get a perspective on Bosch from another analytical detective's mind.
this is exciting! i have so much more to read :)
did you ever get into the Reacher novels?
May 23, 2025 at 11:50 PM
reading reading is the best but audio is the only way i can squeeze books into the day. though i still get around to reading reading comics.

thanks for indulging the Michael Connolly chat. i'm late to the party. i only got into him last year? n i haven't tried any of the shows based on his books.

hahaha all good all good !

That's interesting to know -- I didn't realize Eleanor appeared in other side stories.
Are you a reader reader or do you do audiobooks?
I've been doing the Bosch books thru audio and they're excellent! production value is top notch!

oh man Eleanor is Maddie's mom?! I was wondering about that! Thank you very much Mr. Busiek for spoiling that hahahaha just kidding. I was guessing that it'd end up being Eleanor.

I'm simultaneously reading my third John Grisham book (A Time to Kill). Are you a fan at all of his books?
May 23, 2025 at 10:49 PM
