One of the best parts of the John Wick franchise is that there’s no exposition - you’re just given a window into this elaborate world that runs parallel to yours but with its own set of rules that you’re told nothing about.

More exposition-less drama!

I read it in my 20s and I thought Hayden was an obnoxious brat up until the final page, and that reveal made me feel so overwhelmingly sad for him. I wouldn’t have processed it at any meaningful level when I was a middle schooler.

It was a very Netflix series, in that it’s hard to pin down whether its main aim is to be funny or thought-provoking. We liked it - funny at first and then as the characters unfolded more it became sad. Danson is of course great. Stephanie Beatriz too.
