Interior Worlds (2023, PC)

(highly recommend this game if you're looking for something spooky to play this month! no combat, no jumpscares, just taking photos in eerie environments. genuinely scary at times and also surprisingly funny on occasion!)

hoping some Goldsrc/Xash3d heads might know the answer to this; is there any way to disable the hud in mods that don't have the hud_draw command? in this case, i'm trying to disable the hud in Action Half-Life, but i can't seem to find any way to do so.

grabbed Interior Worlds tonight on a whim cause I was feeling the spooky itch and damn, this game is good.

while getting footage from tons of old and empty CS/HL maps, i've come across some that absolutely feel "haunted". this game is like a distillation of that experience, it rules.

Malignant is a great recent example of this IMHO. Plays things mostly straight until a late tonal shift. One Cut of the Dead maybe fits this criteria as well.

found it! the mod was called Desert Crisis. took some screenshots from a beta version from 2001, likely what i would have played.

i distinctly remember there was a map that played the song Safety Dance, and the mp3 for the song *is* in the files, but i couldn't find any map that uses it. oh well!

even just going by the demo, the game has so much unique personality to it. don't think i could even come up with a clear "it's like X but Y" for it if i tried lol

does anyone happen to remember a multiplayer Half-Life mod from the early 2000's that had the pulse rifle from Aliens as one of the main weapons? (it had nothing else to do with Alien) i think it was team-based as well, but i can't remember much more than that.

somehow never really seen or played Silent Hill 1 before today and uh.. wow that game is really good huh. i guess i expected it to be substantially dinkier than 2, but that is just not really the case at all
