Every time I revisit THE WIRE, it generously heaps some new, previously undiscovered perspective on me. On the latest viewing, it felt more optimistic than I ever remember it being. Yes, the insidious cycle is ever present in the microcosms of Baltimore, but there are those that break free from it.

When liberals stop belly-aching about changing hearts and minds of many that would perish to defend the second amendment, there will either be an overwhelming of abject acceptance or the dawning of what is likely the only solution and the possibility of real progress.

Yes it’s largely indoctrination, but it’ll still never get through my thick skull just how much decent people (like folk in my extended family) could defend and uphold these misanthropic cenobites. Look at this picture- our finest filmmakers couldn’t dream up a more malevolent spirit on screen.
