Hi! To introduce myself to new folk, I got Long Covid in 2020 and went through the worst 18 months of my life before entering remission—I don't know why. I mask. I believe in AI's potential, and resent what Big Tech has done to it. I also post pictures from walks with our dog.

I don’t love the description of increasing autism diagnoses as an “epidemic”

As evidence for your theory, staff in shops often initiate conversations with me in English (unlike other customers), and the only reason i can imagine for why they do so is my mask

I am happy to defer to your judgement here—in addition to my visible privileges (gender, height), I’ve only lived in Aarhus, and only for a few months, which is unlikely to be representative

I am pretty sure that @brebis.bsky.social also lives in Denmark. My own 2p: no one else masks here, but I haven’t gotten any grief over my mask, either

5,290 papers will be published at NeurIPS this year. If you could still get the proceedings in a book, it would be like 50,000 pages long. That’s 14.5 papers a day to read each and every day until the next NeurIPS

I think it is possible to be very sceptical and resistant to the integration of LLM technologies into every aspect of education and scholarship… while also recognizing that the tools *do* have uses. I think thoughtful proponents could work harder to make those cases to e.g other humanists 1/n

More than a dozen cyclists waiting at the lights ahead of me—cycling is quite big in Denmark!
This is a lovely street scene showing a group of cyclists waiting at a traffic light in what appears to be a Scandinavian or Northern European city. The image captures about 12 people on bicycles lined up on a dedicated cycle lane, with the photographer also on a bike based on the handlebar visible in the foreground.
The urban setting features modern brick buildings, including one with “PWC” signage, wide streets with clear cycling infrastructure, and overhead tram or trolley lines. The cyclists are dressed casually in everyday clothing - jeans, jumpers, and casual wear - which is typical of cities where cycling is a common mode of transport for daily commutes and errands.
