Sounds like she has some trauma due to association with clipping and/or her paws being held. It’s hard times so I understand- I would take the approaches I listed before and take it slow. If she works up too much over the clipper- try a Dremel instead! Sometimes the trauma is connected to the tool.

Be sure to ALWAYS follow up with a conditioner (cat safe in this case) - because if you are going to strip the oils- help put it back! 💕🤲

I want to say sometimes pets know what they can get away with- their owners. I’ve been grooming my dog since he was a BABY and he still cries, fights me, and complains for his nails- but is perfect for others. It’s sometimes requires you taking them to someone else, but again- start there first!

You can always dilute down a cat safe shampoo and conditioner too. Premix with warm water into a cup or a bottle for each bath time. Don’t save any left over. Otherwise I don’t really have a brand that I like more than most, but for a stronger smell good foam shampoo try Earthbath and Tropiclean.

2. You can try asking for paw- then treat/reward for gentle touch method. Into a gentle hold after dog is confident enough and work your way up to the grooming progress. Never force it. Be confident and calm.
If not working- you can try an experienced dog groomer who is comfy working with your pet.

A lot of this can depend on the dog and why they don’t like their paws touched- if you are determined to do them yourselves then I’d advise doing some desensitization training first- I always like to recommend to folks a few different methods- 1. Rub paws gently when eepy dog is beside you. Reward.

If a wash rag style bath isn’t helping for the results you need- You can do a warm water bucket dip. Again be cautious of their face area/ears.
I find that high anxiety cats often freak out less when the water is already made and not running. So have a dip bucket, and a rinse bucket/cup.

Hello certified pet stylist here of around 6+ years. So for high anxiety cats you can skip a bath all together and use foam shampoos and a warm water wet rag to wipe them down- then towel them dry. Be cautious to not get water in their ears or soap on their eyes.
