If you had to go to the store to get a gift for the white-elephant exchange, the point was missed. Which happens, and it’s a little awkward when it does, but there’s always next year.

And when IU got its newspaper shuttered, Purdue actually came through. Indiana still has some people who aren’t sycophants.

If I’m going 5-10 mph on a class 3 “cruiser” ebike with a toddler in a trailer and a kid’s balance bike stuck in for once we get to the park so we can spend the day downtown in the walkable neighborhood we couldn’t afford, you’ve got a problem with our ride being on a bike trail?

Why not just prohibit people speeding on them instead? Because I have to be able to ride in 40 mph traffic with no shoulder and a curb, a bridge over an interstate with no shoulder and a drop-off and a curve, & I’d like to be able to use the bike trail. And not spend more than moving houses.

And ideally this is with a trailer and multiple safety flags, but I’m still pretty sure they’ll run me over someday.

I don’t have a dick, but there is a 40 mph road that has a bridge with 0 pedestrian crossings which is where my bike lane ends after running for 2 blocks, and I have to ride in the middle of the lane to avoid flipping my bike on the drain covers, so 28 feels safer

TIF districts are abused by local governments headed by both parties, but that’s because local government folks can’t always decipher the complicated and obtuse operations of redevelopment commissions and economic development groups’ negotiations with big(ger) business. IMO.

The suggestion here is essentially that, if a gerrymander is done for partisan gain, allowing that to occur is a more important goal than preventing disenfranchisement based on race. The implications for minority voting rights are staggering.

They’re basically covering electric motorcycles, not pedal-assist bikes. I got a class 3 just so I could get out of the way of cars more easily on my short trip to the grocery on the 40 mph road; they might not mow me down if I can go 28 for the 3 blocks where there’s no sidewalk or crosswalks

Some of the Republican state legislators in Indiana aren’t idiots, and are even mostly nice people that can be reasoned with on most topics.
