A young female elephant with a painful snare injury received the treatment she needed. MEP assisted the Kenya Wildlife Service @sheldricktrust.bsky.social vet to remove a snare that was wrapped around the elephant’s mouth and ear. Luckily, the treatment was a success

To protect vital forest habitat, MEP enlisted Loita landowners to become part of our habitat protection efforts and paid them to protect their land. To celebrate their commitment this year and reaffirm for the new year, MEP hosted 400+ community members and stakeholders in December for an event.

MEP is grateful to all the photographers that submitted their entries in The Greatest Wildlife Photographer – Kenya competition to support our efforts in 2025. Thanks to them, MEP and other conservation and community orgs are receiving support from the over $21K of funds raised.

Last week, MEP rangers and researchers responded to assist the Kenya Wildlife Service/@sheldricktrust.bsky.social vet unit with three elephant treatments in one day! All three bulls have a positive prognosis, and ranger teams will continue to monitor them closely to ensure a full recovery.

Last week, MEP rangers and researchers responded to assist the Kenya Wildlife Service/@sheldricktrust.bsky.social vet unit with three elephant treatments in one day! All three bulls have a positive prognosis, and ranger teams will continue to monitor them closely to ensure a full recovery.
