Once, many years ago and at a job I don't work anymore, I was having an afternoon chat with 3 coworkers as we did some mindless tasks, and through that chat realized that every one of us had a mother named Barbara. Our age spread was something like 24 to 55, so it wasn't even a generational thing.

In December Christmas is All Around Us from Love Actually gets in there in a bad way. As far as real songs go, I can't call it "good" in any sense, but if we're grading on the steep curve of holiday music, it probably beats Do They Know It's Christmas

Some of us are seeing the price, sighing and continuing ruglessly, then being reminded of the price a year later and repeating the cycle again. Not every person who can't afford something is participating in capricious overconsumption.
