Excellent game. Long time EO fan so I wasn't feeling the ocs at first but the old fans like me were kept happy with Classic mode which let's you still make your own characters

Fighting games especially the new ones do put actual effort into their stories. I don't care much if an upcoming playable character is spoiled for me but the lore reason theyre in should remain up to me to find out.
Oh right, people really want new playable characters to be a surprise/spoiler too.

Its always gonna be case by case and its easier to see depending on your eyes, monitor, and genre of game.
It usually only matters for games with competitive scenes or games that flaunt performance and quality.
