Another new vocalisation from Chips today as he followed me. I hope you can hear it’s a kind of clunk clunk! I wonder if there are any Raven experts out there that can understand the different sounds and why he makes them. It’s wonderful learning about their behaviour every day #Ravens #ukbirding

Lovely birding walk. The Pochard was the highlight. It's lovely to see a Pochard anywhere but it is always much sweeter when it is on patch! Also: the Ravens were grumpy this morning telling a Buzzard off, Coal Tits, Nuthatch, Tawny Owls calling, Kingfisher, Pinkies, Mipits, Little Grebes #ukbirding

Well done on the L-album. Your garden is really good for migrants!

For me at 1st it was the awe of seeing such beautiful things in my trap. I admit now a lot of it is the lure of something unusual & rare! As I get more into it there is the interest of the geographical distributions/habitats when comparing with others & comparing with previous yrs etc So much!

The birding Autumn just took a spectacular turn for the better with a Common Pochard on Osmere. I know it is a relatively common bird but I have only seen one on patch once before and they are so pretty!😆 #ukbirding

9/14 in Marbury. Straw Dot (3), Figure of 8, 2 Barred Sallow,2 G-b Crescents,R-g Carpet, Vines Rustic. I was pondering why moth-ing is so addictive(setting the traps up, checking traps at night, the anticipation then checking in the morning, then looking forward to the next night!?) #teammoth
Green-brindled Crescent Figure of Eight in the wall. Half the moths were on the wall last night. Very few in the traps Vines Rustic on the wall Red-green Carpet on the wall I think. Not much Red on it!

Still the lone House Martin hanging around patch on this morning's walk, must be migrating soon. Also Ravens, Tawny Owls calling, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Kingfisher, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Great White Egrets, Tufted Ducks, Great Crested & Little Grebes, Pink-footed Geese #ukbirding

I love sharing them! They have become more and more confident over the last nearly 2 years. Thankfully if anyone else is about they don't come down so still keep their wildness!

I really wish some lovely autumn moths on you 🧙‍♀️😅 Yes lots of empty egg boxes but still some nice moths. It felt like a night that there would be more flying around, but like everyone else saw very little before I went to bed so I guessed it would be low numbers
