Just got done bingeing Poker Face, a great show, and the thing that stands out most to me is how much it has in common with the 90s show The Pretender.

Back in January I was looking for a book I'd heard about on Tiktok several years ago. Problem was I couldn't find the author, or remember enough about it to narrow the search down. Tonight I remembered it. Gate City Blues by a creator that goes by The Woodmother.

Made pancakes for breakfast today, and for the first time none were burnt or raw in the middle. Key to avoiding the first seems to be ignoring my parents advice of waiting to flip till the bubbles come through the top and flipping when they first form. No idea how I dodged the second hurdle though.

Been working on a cyberpunk hack for Fall of Magic by @deernicorn.bsky.social, so towards that end I'm consuming a bunch of cyberpunk stories (books/movies/podcasts). After making the connection between it and the Sprawl Trilogy years ago I thought it'd be a good fit.

Maybe 2 weeks ago I was given a media recommendation for something called Afflicted. I immediately forgot the name and just trusted it would come to me. Today I remembered the name, but now I don't know what kind of media it was.

I frequently describe my photography as less Art and more Exorcism, and folk generally get the implication of that wording. For those who don't, the below has been haunting me for 20 years and I finally have the tools to exorcise it from my brain.
