It's a bittersweet history of the rise and fall of two great nations. I was in Venezuela in 1997 when this country was comparable in terms of GDP per capita to Poland. It was one of the most beautiful places I have visited in my life.

This is the difference that decided that in a country of 38 million, the next president will be a person with right-wing and nationalist views.

I find it difficult to accept that my country is so divided and both sides don't listen to each other's arguments.

I have had the privilege of witnessing this significant growth over the past few decades. Having grown up in a socialist country where passports were issued by public administration and store shelves were usually empty, I can fully appreciate the remarkable progress my country has made.

According to data published by the media, EUR 1.97 bln was invested in startups in Spain last year. In Poland, EUR 370m was invested in the first 3Qs of 2024. If we assume that the investment dynamics for Q4 were similar, it turns out that around EUR 500m was invested in startups in Poland in 2024.

I feel a little sorry for price aggregators, platforms with discount codes, or community-based bargain search engines. For many years, they have had easy-going, lead-generation businesses, which in the era of AI agents are likely to lose their business or at least drastically modify it.
