Last night, NASA's Perseverance rover looked up at the night sky once more, to capture interstellar #comet 3I/Atlas flying by the red planet.

The distance was "only" 0.2 AU or 30 Mio km, far closer than the comet ever got to Earth. 🔭 #3IAtlas

Each NASA-supported citizen science project has a summary page telling you the task you'll do as a volunteer, what's required of you, and how to get started. E.g., Snapshot Wisconsin invites you to inspect trail camera images for roaming wildlife. science.nasa.gov/citizen-scie... #scienceathome

I see what you mean. I’m struggling with the analogy to planets versus brown dwarfs though.
marckuchner.bsky.social
Good example! And you'll see that the word that refers to the formation mechanism is just a modifier on the word "species". You wouldn't eliminate an object from the base category (species) simply because of the object's history....it just acquires a modifier.

Well, this isn't the first time I've pushed back on peer reviewed literature. Name another instance -- from any field of science--of a definition that's based on how something formed not what something is! (and yes I'll admit there are some)
