Most investors lost their shirts in all of these, so not sure it is a great selling point for AI. “Hey look, the public invested and lost their savings in trains 150 years ago, you should invest in AI today”

My fb feed used to be people I had met in real life. Then the FarmVille and candy crush invitations started, other promoted content, and now it is a cesspit of conspiracy and extremism. I don’t know why I anyone would share anything on there anymore.

I used to assume it was cynical (misguided) political calculation, but at this point I honestly ask myself wether they are not simply sympathetic to these ideas.

We need to make AI companies pay for all the data they are siphoning in for training. Without IP theft, AI wouldn’t be a lot more expensive and lot less competitive
