Personally, I also have doubts about the supposed "gain" in democracy. While one "problem" may be solved, new ones are created: I don’t want to imagine what a national campaign would look like. The initiators 2013 proposal came from the wealthiest party.

The election of the Federal Council by the people has been rejected three times: in 1900, 1942, most recently on June 9, 2013, with 76% voting against it. Linking such a clear majority to the "Stockholm syndrome" is inappropriate.
