Well the good thing is that there is no entrance door, so you don't have to actually live in it.

I bought the affinity suite years ago so I used it recently when I did the cover I used to print my manuscript. For reference I imported a jpg from the internet into a new cmyk file. It came out exactly as I wanted it. I assume the new software works the same as it should just be a repackaging.

Canva now offers a more powerful suite called Affinity for free, it's more of a proper Adobe competitor that they acquired a couple of years back. Worth trying before giving money to Adobe.

one of the best pieces of game design ever is in Sushi Go, where the cards for Gyozas score exponentially more for each additional one you play.

I feel like I should add that this was not a complaint, I understand why these things take time. Just having a bit of fun.

I see querying as me making agents a business proposition, not me asking them what they think of my book. I am ok with rejections, they simply mean "I don't want to start this business with you", not "I think your book sucks". I have beta readers for that! :D (they did like to though, luckily).

This was a fantastic blog post, pretty much mimics my experience as well writing my first book. I never really had writer's block, what I occasionally would have is one of the things you outlined (and nothing that walking with my dog and talk to myself for an hour about the plot would not fix).

I got mine when you still needed an invite from someone that already had gmail to get one.
