From the actual article.

I mean … fair enough, so? People can belong in, and identify with, more than one place.

Very happy to see Rowlf rightfully front and centre in the new Muppet Show trailer.

Someone had left this on the desk where I was teaching my 9am class this morning.

At the end of Week 1 of term, in the midst of *gestures wildly*, I think this is a participation medal we could all do with.

Kind of fascinated by the current vogue for "hands silhouetted against a colourful backdrop, probably at some kind of festival" in social psychology textbook design.

In case anyone’s curious as to what was on the UCC Sociology syllabus in 1968…

(My mother’s handwriting was neater than mine).

A discovery when clearing out a room in my parents’ house: my late mother’s Sociology notes from @ucc.ie in 1968.

The lecturer is noted as Fr Ryan, which I presume is Fr Liam Ryan, later of @maynoothuniversity.ie

I was glad to receive a copy of Dermot Murphy's new poetry collection "The Drift of Memory" today. It was inspired by the experience of his mother's generation: women who moved from Ireland to Britain in the mid-20th Century.

"What is our individual responsibility towards the spread of misinformation on a micro level?", is the moral question that I guess I'm asking.

From a recent IT article.

Merits of the argument aside, this is such a strange metaphor to use in an Irish newspaper, of all places. The rain frequently is wetter than usual! We call that ‘heavy’ or even ‘torrential’ rain! We have yellow & orange weather warnings and flood defences accordingly!
