I lived in Scotland for four years and always felt I'd return some day. Now I've had to exclude the UK from my job search because while my profession happens to qualify for a visa, my wife's no longer does, as of this summer. It just sucks.

Malazan! I freaking love it. The magic, the cultures, the pantheons, and how they change and transform over millennia. Just as Tolkien being a linguist shone through in his worldbuilding, Erikson being an archaeologist does the same in Malazan.
