A president doing illegal things doesn’t mean he has king-like power. It means abuses are happening and enforcement is failing. Courts, states, and elections still exist. The system is strained, not erased. Treating it as already dead only helps authoritarians.

A U.S. president cannot cancel the midterms. Elections are set by law and the Constitution, not executive power. Even during extreme unrest, that authority doesn’t exist. We’ve held elections during war and crisis before.
