Here it is. The first post contrasts modern tailoring/Craig’s suit here, with a Gene Kelly scene from the 40s.

if you want to understand tailoring, you only need to watch mid-century movies, when actors were dressed by tailors, not brands. in the 1944 film cover girl, gene kelly's suit drapes beautifully, moving with him, not against him. collar stays on his neck, even as he dances.

The menswear guy had a thread on this point using this exact scene as evidence.

That’s the one I have, too. I know Sophtware Slump, but I guess don’t have it physically. This is how I thought the “Now It’s On” single was from that album (it’s not). I do have the single, and love it.

I hate that I questioned what was a legitimately amazing, cool moment.

When one of the color guys said, “That’s AI,” I started to wonder. Was this some elaborate in-game ad?

Right. Your body depends on a little cortisol in these moments. The withdrawal symptoms are no joke.

On track to be the least stressful M’s playoff game ever. It got slightly stressful in the 9th, just for old time’s sake, and I appreciate that in a weird way.

Fantastic job by Gilbert against the top of the lineup and in a high-stress spot.

Yeaahhh! Ok, back on track. I’m just telling myself to breathe. Polanco and Castillo, both of whom had some question marks around them, and they were fantastic. Great, great win.

THERE’S the Muñoz we know and love. What a win.

This would be an iconic highlight were it not for a late interruption from UmpRump.

Tarik Skubal is so, so good. To win this would be huge. (I know they’ve done it before. This is, quite obviously, different)

Just an unreasonably beautiful night in Seattle. In a way that phone cameras or broadcast cameras can’t quite capture. Trust me. I’m leaning on this as playoff nerves destroy me.

Jorge Polanco: M’s legend. Imagine reading something like this a year ago.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Crushing. Going to be tough tomorrow, but you’ve got to find a way, Mariners.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Well shit. Really need this game, M’s. Unlucky at some level, but it hasn’t been a clean inning from Vargas, so can’t really complain.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Great catch. Not the most convincing inning, but it was a quick one.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Yes. Julio, you are awesome.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Exactly. And I get it. The PSU loss itself, in isolation, probably is worse. But the context around it….yikes.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
The more I think about it, I’m not sure the PSU loss today was as meaningful as the Texas loss today. Texas was the preseason #1, with the best QB, and even if they didn’t win this year, it felt like it was coming. *All of that* is now looking shaky. It’s no longer clear what they’re building.

Great pitch, George. Final pitch to Meadows was essentially perfect.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
Ok, nice piece of hitting, Cal.
marcwbaseball.bsky.social
That was as rough a sequence as you’ll see in a late game situation. Ouch.
