Today’s featured fruit is a tiny, buttery, delicious avocado. I didn’t know what it was, thought it might be a pineapple guava but it didn’t have that tell-tale scent. So just cut into it and what a delight! Sprinkled with salt and eaten with a spoon was just perfect. I think it’s a palta criolla.

In today’s episode of fun fruits, here’s a delicious and luscious Granadilla (Passiflora ligularis), a type of passion fruit that I tried today in Lima. Its outer shell is hard and orange when ripe. It is so much bigger than passion fruit I’ve had in the U.S.
