The Leftovers is ahead of The Americans for me. Not just the finale itself - Kevin and Nora’s scene at the house is perfect - but the final run of episodes. Brilliant.

It's almost useless if are at the beginning of the line. I'm on the third stop on my bus line, and can never really tell if there's a bus coming because they rarely follow the schedules.

Let me tell you, it wasn’t fun to land in EWR an hour ago in the middle of this.

They just hit shots they were missing. Process and results, man.

With the Knicks shooting this many 3s, one needs to distinguish between shooting variance and blah stints. Otherwise you are just looking at results, not process.

If you added this start to his seasonal stats, his walk rate would be in the single digits. Just sayin...

Thank you - yes, there is a nice quality to that photo. And it’s a lovely place.

Matt, genuinely curious: why is the photo in the homepage of the bookstore from IHEID in Geneva? I did my grad studies there, so I was curious if there was a particular reason for that photo. Thanks for all your work!

I assume the sweltering heat tomorrow will affect turnout?

Basically, for fans of non European clubs, it's a unique opportunity to see how your team measures up against top competition.
June 16, 2025 at 8:40 PM
I think there's an asymmetry between how Europe/N. America and the rest of the world are reacting. It's quite popular in Brazil, and tons of fans have traveled to see the games (couldn't get a table at a Brazilian restaurant yesterday full of fans going to see Palmeiras in the Meadowlands later).

Think about it this way: you would have had to buy it regardless, as you would not have found it in the mess of other cables.

Could we at least agree on unlimited transfers on a bus as we can do on the subway. Bus-Subway-Bus transfers should cost the same as Subway-Subway-Bus transfers.

You don't. At least not in NYC if you don't have a support system for childcare. Even working late can be a burden for the other parent.
June 3, 2025 at 4:38 PM
Agreed. I suppose I'm grasping at straws here, but it's incredibly frustrating for non-European fans to see all the talent that used to play domestically be exported so early on.
May 29, 2025 at 6:39 PM
because it'd be nice if a few more clubs in south america to allow them to keep their players until, say, they are 20 rather than 16.
May 29, 2025 at 4:21 PM
Does the club world cup generate revenue for the participating clubs? Because if it can get some money to flow to non-European clubs, it would be a welcome development.
May 29, 2025 at 4:19 PM
They've been trying to play out of it for 5 months. It's insanity.
May 24, 2025 at 1:37 AM
Poor Precious.
May 17, 2025 at 1:36 AM
that's putting it kindly.

crazy that you need a foreign coach to tell you that playing only two midfielders is probably a bad idea.
May 12, 2025 at 1:39 PM
Glad to see Brazil is finally part of the trend - have you seen the managers they've had since Qatar?
