unrelated, aber ich hab hier ein familienmitglied, der vor 30 jahren aus uk kam, ohne ein wort deutsch zu sprechen und nach den ersten fahrten auf der autobahn dachte, “ausfahrt” müsse ja eine MASSIV große und wichtige stadt sein, so viele wege wie da hinführen. 🥰

findings: individuals with cancer report *higher* symptom burden, but the symptom structure is similar. “depressed mood” & “energy loss” were also central. this tells us somatic symptoms should not be excluded in screenings as they are no mere side effects, but integrated within the symptom network.

gestern habe ich es leider nicht mehr geschafft und bin jetzt ein paar tage unterwegs, ich hoffe, das war noch nicht die letzte chance dieses jahr. bin - noch? - kein winterschwimmer 🥶 stimmt, dass er die wärme wirklich gut hält, der faaker see war jetzt deutlich kälter.

keep an eye out: the validation study of our 8-item short version of the intersession experience questionnaire (ieq; originally by orlinsky and colleagues) was just accepted. it captures therapy-related thoughts, emotions, actions… between sessions. looking forward to working much more with it 🙌

if you have some spätzle left, which often happens if you make them yourself, try briefly re-heating them with cottage cheese (and salt, pepper, and nutmeg)! i was very skeptical at first, but my partner’s mom - who is from southern germany - introduced me to this version and it is SO GOOD as well.
