This is so tacky it might as well be Russian.

Sure. Next task is to find the buyers.

Good luck with that. 🤣

And whoever it was, definitely never mentioned “cake”.

…brioche?

On the other hand at least it has a positive ending, with the people who brought Gilead to its end being those who had seemed most loyal.
I guess Atwood did ultimately give us hope.

Well done! I also like to tell myself - when you’re feeling down, even when you’re at your lowest, do something nice for someone else.

It must be something evolutionary, I guess as beings bound to a society we’re just programmed to feel better after helping others.

In other words - welcome back to the EU, this time into the one where you have no decision making power, yet are happy to comply with everything that the 27 decides.

So I guess your membership is just a fond memory now, eh?
Up next: free trade and movement of people.

I’d certainly know of another country besides the US that is in a desperate need of a revolution. This post is nothing short of hypocrisy.

But in’89 it did try, though.
Thank God I live in Europe ♥️🇪🇺
April 13, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Yup, that’s called Europe ♥️
With the difference being that it stretches throughout the time of your studies, i. e. max the age of 26.

Such a nice city! And Heritage Park…possibly the best open-air museum I’ve every been to.

Sure, the registration step is clearly obsolete. If DOGE was after govt efficiency, this would be the first to go.
So the new bill is unnecessary, but I still can’t see how it discriminates anyone. If you changed your name, in Europe, you ID becomes invalid and you can’t vote on an old one.
April 12, 2025 at 4:57 AM
Dude, you make registering to vote sound like writing s university thesis.
From what I found, you show your valid ID 2 weeks prior and then you go vote. You can register even by mail or online.
Does it seem obsolete? Sure.
Does the new law discriminate from voting? Certainly does not seem so.
April 12, 2025 at 4:54 AM
If people practiced comprehension while reading, they would realize it makes no difference. Whether you vote or “register,” you always present your ID, which in European terms is a proof of citizenship.

So why making such a big deal? Such McCarthyism is exactly what brought the advent of Trump.
April 11, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Yup, besides the healthcare, welfare and “foodcare,” yet another reason to live in Europe.
April 11, 2025 at 3:47 AM
Takže si mám pro vyjádření přání dojet do Tábora? Ty brďo, vy ten můj hlas asi fakt nechcete…
April 11, 2025 at 3:34 AM
I’m sorry but this seems a bit far fetched. Although I’m the complete opposite of a Republican, isn’t it a normal thing to present a proof of citizenship when voting?
I mean, in Europe you can’t vote any other way - you have to show your national ID, which proves exactly that.
April 11, 2025 at 3:32 AM
To je hezké, ale co jižní Čechy? Nebo jste na nás úplně zanevřeli?
Je tu spousta voličů, ale opravdu nemáme koho volit. 💔
April 10, 2025 at 6:16 PM
And only to think that a few years prior to the Crimean war there were claims, left and right, that NATOs days are over, the alliance is obsolete because there was no more enemy to fight.
We can only imagine how that would have turned out.

Tbh at this point nobody is eager to see the UK back.
You’ve made your bed, now you have to lie in it.

To me the most striking in the book is the attitude of some women, who see their rights are being curbed, yet they’re like “sure, this does not concern me because I’m for family values”.

This book really is the 1984 of our time.
March 16, 2025 at 6:27 AM
In other words - if there were the Berlin Wall now, there would be no Fall.
March 16, 2025 at 6:23 AM
It breaks my heart to watch this in real time. So many people, so much hope but without single-people representatives and a clear political programme for a change, I’m afraid they will just fade away over time.
And that’s what their president is waiting for.

A lost battle 💔.
