This may come as a surprise, but nuclear fusion is already the most popular method of energy production not only in the US, but in the whole solar system. Only problem is you need a ball of gas with a mass of 1.989x10^30 kg (about 300,000 Earths). Apart from that, yeah, climate change, no problem.

8.8 magnitude tsunamigenic earthquake reported on Kamchatka peninsula, Russia. It’s worth bearing in mind early estimates of the size of large earthquakes are often too low.
