Grey Cup today. It's a miserable 3°. The Montreal Alouettes and Saskatchewan Roughriders are the participants. Both deserve the spot they earned. The Roughriders season record speaks for itself. The Alouettes won the games needed when their squad was healthy. Go Als Go!

Bank of Canada lowering the interest rate again to 2.25% while inflation is still high. This is not a good policy in my opinion.

Looks like government spending is still fuelling inflation. Quebec leads the way 3.3%. This spike is mostly from food and rents that have rocketed in the province. Not a good result.

Building permits are up %14 in Quebec from last month. A bright spot compared to the -1.2% decline for all of Canada. Interesting statistic to look at.

Disney Springs came to be on this day in 2015. Probably one of the nicest shopping and dining locations I have ever been. Very safe shopping except for the occasional villain in a scuba costume.

It's game time. Montreal Alouettes host Calgary Stampeders. Tonight at Percival Molson Stadium. Get your 50/50 and settle in with a snack. Go Als Go!

July GDP number for Canada. 0.2% Not something to cheer about but it could have been worse. Looks like mining helped save the day on this number.

Montreal Alouettes are in Toronto to take on the Toronto Argonauts. It is a big game. Montreal needs the win to maintain second place in the division. Last Saturday's performance showed they had what it takes to win. Let's hope for a repeat. Go Als Go!

Bank of Canada cut to 2.5%. This was expected. Inflation is still problematic and this rate is lower than the neutral rate in my opinion. More inflation likely to come.

Montreal Alouettes maintain their lead against Toronto. This Friday's matchup between the two is critical for playoffs. Montreal wins and they extend their lead. Toronto wins and they are tied. Go Als Go!

Couche Tard reported earnings yesterday. They report sales in USD and reported earnings per diluted share of t 78 cents US, a six-per-cent drop from 83 cents. Same store sales are up in Canada and US. The numbers aren't great but they are going in the right directions. The stock is up this morning.
