Australia’s per capita recession is over, but the United States economy could be in for much worse.

Greg & Elinor discuss the end of Australia’s per capita recession, why the humble chickpea deserves some of the credit, and why DOGE is looking like a disaster for the American economy.

Maybe a cashless welfare card would help
As an opposition spokesperson, Jacinta Price is paid between $280,000 & $292,054 a year, along with various allowances & super.

But that didn’t stop her being investigated for 14 breaches of misuses of expenses, 13 of which she was found to have improperly have claimed from the Tax payer.

Barnaby Joyce and others say you can’t recycle wind turbines.

Well - these surfboards are made from recycled wind blades from Victoria.

More than 85% of what is in a wind turbine can be recycled.

So let’s just get on with delivering cleaner, cheaper electricity.

Two jets collide in US.

Who ordered a hiring freeze and sacked the heads of government aviation the day he was inaugurated?

The planes collided at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona when a Learjet 35A “veered off the runway after landing,” the Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement.

Anyone else a bit *concerned* about politicians - including those representing a foreign state - whipping up fear and distrust in our police, intelligence and government literally doing their job?
Why is the ABC not doing their job? Asking “in whose interest?”

My latest in The Echo. The Albanese govt's reforms are not being given the credit they deserve. The focus group-driven mantra of a ‘do nothing’ govt cannot be sustained if our erstwhile political commentators bothered to look at what the govt has actually done #auspol www.echo.net.au/2025/01/main...
Mainstream media fails to mention positive Labor policies
The new year in Australian politics, an all-important election year, began on a high with a host of Albanese government policy initiatives taking effect from January 1, 2025.

Given the AFP is saying foreign actors may be behind some of the attacks on Jewish sites in Australia, it would be irrational to enact new laws based on the untested assumption that the underlying cause is protest activity. Evidence-based law-making, you know, that old thing.
