It’s about 20 years since I read the Alex Rider novels with my son , so I can’t reliably recommend them in those terms. You might need to find a graphic novel version and check yourself.

Yes, I used to read the Alex Rider ones with my youngest son. They were wonderful. I think he also wrote the scripts for the series , Foyle’s War , which was one of my favourites.

You did the right thing. Our day was pretty boisterous, but wonderful. We all get on well and the 3 grandkids played without a cross word. It will be someone else’s turn to host next year, so I will be happy about that, too. I am just about to wash the floor. It’s a sticky mess! 😀😀😀
