This is your regular reminder that there is no "line" that undocumented people can get into to fix their papers; it doesn't exist. Even people married to US citizens have to navigate a system that requires them to risk a decade of exile if they want to get permanent status.
Attorneys say the parole program would have been a lifeline for thousands who already qualify for a green card, and have no disqualifying criminal record, but who risk separation from their families if they petition for legal status. It was struck down last month by a Trump-appointed federal judge.
