🌍 Together with colleagues in Sweden and Ukraine, I’ll combine fieldwork, spatial modeling, and global synthesis to better understand how soil microbial communities respond to and recover (?) from these pressures

Up to 6% of Earth’s land may already be contaminated or degraded and we still know little about how these stressors affect the microbes that play important roles belowground🌱🧬

I’ll be returning to @stockholm-uni.bsky.social , this time to Department of Physical Geography, to study how military-induced disturbances shape soil microbial diversity and ecosystem functions and what this means for restoring contaminated landscapes
