Very cool, a new person to subscribe to. The Northern Marianas were fortunate to be under civilian governance before the War, so our elders often had fond memories of that period before the military buildup. Unfortunately, the experience of our brothers and sisters to the South in Guam was of war.

Interesting documentary, I am from the island of Saipan in the Northern Marianas. My grandparents generation and several in the next generation were fluent in Japanese. It is less common now unless you work in tourism, however our native language includes several Japanese words.
