Another alarming study: Africa’s wildlife “power grid” has dimmed. Total ecological energy has fallen by more than one-third.
This is not only about species dying, but about ecosystems collapsing. “Restoration isn’t just about bringing animals back, it’s about bringing back what they do,”

Watched ‘All that’s left of you’ tonight, a deeply moving film about the intergenerational trauma of a Palestinian family. Definitely agree with all the 5star reviews.
I hope it will open many eyes to the tragic history of the Palestinian people since the Nakba. m.imdb.com/title/tt2934...

Total devastation. Heartbreaking
The island of #Jamaica is devastated after #HurricaneMelissa 🌪️. The town of #BlackRiver has suffered massive damage.

It is so sad to see another major hurricane approaching very vulnerable people. Melissa shows wind speeds up to an incredible 387km/h. Incredibly frustrating to know in advance about all the devastation this is going to cause. Heartbreaking
Simply incredible imagery of Hurricane Melissa this morning as it approaches Jamaica.

What this story also shows: ‘it is not just the heat. It is inequality – who has access to shelter, healthcare, money and social support – that often determines who lives and who dies.’

Well… Agricultural industries, which have been responsible for 85% of forest loss over the past decade, have received average annual subsidies worth $409bn (£307bn). This is almost 70 times more than the $5.9bn of international public finance provided each year for forest protection and restoration.

Time and time again, sustainable solutions are smarter business
Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.
