My thought before the last bout of the basho was "Aonishiki has always been 'shin-'." Shin-jonokuchi rikishi, storming through divisions, and then shin-komusubi, shin-sekiwake and now for 99% shin-Ozeki.

As a fan of his, I feel truly fortunate that I had the opportunity to see his performance in London and root for him in person. I'm afraid that it was his last visit to Makuuchi in his almost 20 years career.

Hmm, that looks like an unfortunate tachiai from Hoshoryu side. I believe he had some plans there, how to proceed forward, but this time Aonishiki decided to go full force and blew Hoshoryu out of the dohyo.
