A Draw the Line event by Climate Clock was held at Cimbumbiro, near Bukavu city, Democratic Republic of Congo. The event aimed to educate local sellers about the provision of charcoal derived from fossil fuels and the felling of trees in Kahuzi-Biega park. Participants were encouraged to adopt renewable energy sources and ecological charcoal for household and daily activities. The initiative hopes to engage several local women in the use of renewable energy.

👩🏼‍🌾👨🏾‍🌾 Smallholder farmers, Indigenous Peoples & women make up the majority of global food producers. They’re hit hardest by climate impacts—but excluded from most climate finance decisions. That’s not just unjust. It’s ineffective.

Debt is a climate issue. 93% of climate-vulnerable countries are in or near debt distress. This limits their ability to invest in sustainable, people-led agriculture. Debt cancellation would free up resources for climate-resilient food systems.
