This one was a weird one. She didn’t say do better, but it was implied. First a lot of words why she would say no, then the no, then this: Keep writing, revising, refining. And then this: Here are some resources I’ve found invaluable (with resources we probably all know).

I know you mean well. But we’ve read those. We live on those. So when they show up in a rejection, it feels like being told to do our homework… after we followed the exact instructions and already turned our homework in.
