I'm not at all saying that allostatic load isn't interesting to consider; if the chronic overload of toxic bullshit in the last 10 years didn't overlap with COVID, perhaps it would be the top consideration.
But the reality is that for most people, COVID explains basically all of the extra sickness.

There seems to be “a moral imperative to know every meticulous detail of all Earthly horrors.”

The playbook for white evangelicals is:

Deny reality that contradicts your worldview
Refuse to take accountability
Punish those who do not obey/ agree with you

Now that everyone in the world is seeing how fucked up this is, maybe have some compassion for people who grew up with parents like this?
