My amazing daughter is running in the New York City Marathon this November! She is raising funds for a wonderful cause. I’m so proud of her. Please consider helping her out with any amount. We would be so honored! fundraisers.nyrr.org/fundraisers/...

Which is better, the book 📕 or the movie 🎥 ? It doesn’t get any better than Tommy Lee Jones and Javier Bardem. Cormac McCarthy‘s audiobooks work so well for me. The narrators are always the best! I’m leaning toward the movie 🍿 though. #nocountryforoldmen 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Historical fiction based on a real event. The setting is Dust Bowl/Great Depression. Cross country coast to coast transportation of the first giraffes sent to the San Diego Zoo. #westwithgiraffes 🌟🌟🌟

Historical fantasy. Assyrian kings, queens and peasants, Gilgamesh references and a strong female character. This took a long time to get going for me but hey, look at another gorgeous cover! #babylonia 🌟🌟🌟

This was the Book of the Month’s winner for book of the year. One strong woman, character, and one who just goes with the flow and tries to stay safe. I learned some more about the recent history of Iran but this book was “meh” for me. #thelionwomenoftehran 🌟🌟

Audiobook short stories read by several narrators. Claire Keegan stories are wonderful to listen to. She’s an Irish writer, but some of these stories take place in the US. (Aidan Quinn is one of the narrators and I did not enjoy listening to his smacking!) #antarctica #clairekeegan 🌟🌟🌟

#19 in this mystery series and I love them all! International borders are crossed trying to stop a killer. There are no characters in any books that I love more. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 #louisepenny #thegreywolf #inspectorarmandgamache #threepines

The best way to experience this book is through audio! It is hilarious. A white family moves to an affluent black neighborhood, and there is a misunderstanding about their white “gang member” son. (Live, love, laugh gang. They are recognized by their cargo 🩳 shorts!😂) 🌟🌟🌟

Such a strange book! I know there are lots of folk tales from Appalachia, but this is a new twist on folklore I’ve never heard about. And look at that gorgeous cover! #thebogwife 🌟🌟🌟

Wendell Berry writes a lot like Kent Haruf in that slow easy way that says a lot and gives you all the feels. This was a short audiobook, but I adored it. 🌟🌟🌟#nathancoulter #wendallberry

Another audiobook of short stories. I read Lincoln in the Bardo by Saunders and loved it so I thought I would try his short stories. I’m still not a short story reader but I enjoyed this. #georgesaunders #tenthofdecember 🌟🌟🌟

What a great story! I’m usually not a fan of a book with an unlikable main character, but the other characters were so good! #thepatronsaintofliars 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I’m a huge fan of Al Pacino, and I had read good reviews about his audiobook which he narrates himself. There were parts that I really liked, but it was a pretty boring story and I only listened to about 3/4. I just couldn’t finish. 🌟🌟 #sonnyboy #alpacino

Short stories that span different times but are somewhat related. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very well written although I wouldn’t call it a romance. 💘🌟🌟🌟

This was a good audio book however I wasn’t very invested in the story. 🌟🌟🌟

I love this series, but this is probably the last one I’m going to read. The story is getting pretty stale. 🌟🌟

I was not a fan of this book. I thought the movie was great. This was an audiobook that I listened to. The voices and narration were great. 🌟🌟

Finally got around to reading this. Love the Middle Ages. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

This was a slog to get through. Some likable characters but not enough to make this good. 🌟🌟🌟 #thefoxwife

Part of what I’m going to do this year is post the books I read. This was my first read of 2025 and it was fantastic! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
