I'm Mário Santos. I'm a professional pixel artist and I have worked on games, videos and more!

Currently I'm working on a new game by Zenovia Interactive currently named "Neon Inferno". Although I can't post much for now, please keep an eye out for it!

I'm a fan of the art style and animation, and not much else. I'll say that much.

Nothing that was confirmed although I have a headcanon suspicion of my own that I'll keep to myself for now :p

You can perhaps consider his undoing of Dracula's curse a "legacy" to mankind.
mariosantos.bsky.social
This story is told on the Curse of Darkness manga by Kou Sasakura.
mariosantos.bsky.social
He was the son of an alchemist who didn't give a shit for him. His mother also was indifferent towards him. So, watching his suffering and potential power, animals of the night induced a fire that killed his parents, and then they guide him to Dracula's castle, where he becomes an apprendice.

Ask me anything about Hector, the former Devil Forgemaster and favorite of Count Dracula.
mariosantos.bsky.social
Ele é imune contra fraquezas de vampiros. Não precisa nem beber sangue.

Mas, se ele morrer, apenas sua parte humana morre, e ele se torna um vampiro completo. Então ele não pode se permitir ser ferido mortalmente.

LoS at least made an effort, and went great lengths to set itself apart. Legends is just stupid no matter how you slice it.
mariosantos.bsky.social
I mean, I have beaten this game with just Alucard's fists as weapons. This is not a brag, the game is truly easy.

I think there's merit to this game being on the easier side. "Vibevania" like a friend told me one time. SotN is a vibes game and it works.
mariosantos.bsky.social
Well hmmm....

Alucard's armor in Castlevania Judgment has the image of Archangel Michael of Castel Sant'Angelo printed on the back.

There's one more cute observation about this that no one repeats because I never wrote it in my original discovery post :P
mariosantos.bsky.social
Ele tem aura + ego. A capa dele não vai cair não importa o que ele faça.
mariosantos.bsky.social
He is described as "the man who gathered the power to completely destroy Dracula". We learn of his previous contact with the Hakuba clan through Aria and Grimoire. So yeah, it was him during his travels who learned of the Hakuba's power.
mariosantos.bsky.social
The spear wielded by Eric is truly named Alucard Spear. The spear does really appear on the Saturn port, but it's not "approved" by the SotN creators.

Eric is not related to Adrian. The Lecarde clan is actually related to the Belmonts.

Ask me anything about Adrian Fahrenheit Tepes. The son of Dracula. The ally of worthless humans.

You're welcome! I just want to add a last bit here: This is not a problem of mistranslations. The english manual/game never says anything about Simon reviving Dracula, either.

This looks like it's 100% made up by the community.

Dunno, man, maybe you'll end up liking the video a lot. I LITERALLY stopped watching at CVII "Simon revives Dracula". I'm tired of video makers getting this wrong and it tends to go downhill from there.
mariosantos.bsky.social
Honestly, he got a few critical things about the franchise correct. Example: He points out how Castlevania 1 had it's plot ENTIRELY butchered for the west, and this created the perception that Castlevania is a campy "stroll through a haunted house". But after he got CVII wrong, I stopped watching
mariosantos.bsky.social
Mentok says he's gonna do more videos for this month.

I'm already expecting stuff that puts me off from watching the rest. This dude's gonna say "these games were retconned as non canon later by Koji Igarashi" and I'm gonna throw a brick at my screen.
mariosantos.bsky.social
I think the game itself pretty much confirms that through the villagers. One of them says something along the lines of "everything was peaceful until you arrived and this racket started". The curse is drawing the monsters as it grows stronger and heralds the return of their lord.
mariosantos.bsky.social
People will play SotN, will see that "Richter" resurrecting Dracula is a major plot point because Belmonts are not supposed to do this

Then turn back and go "yeah Simon revived Dracula lol"

If I were the writer of these games I would be mad.
mariosantos.bsky.social
At the end of the story, Simon gathered the body parts and burned them at the ruins of Dracula's castle.

However Dracula appears as a weak ghost, and using a body part unknown to Simon (Dracula's Fang), tries to kill him. Simon prevails, the end.

There is NO Dracula resurrection in this game.
mariosantos.bsky.social
and if he is to STOP Dracula's return and dispel the curse, he must find and destroy Dracula's body parts, which have started appearing over the region.

In short: Simon must destroy Dracula's body before the curse revives Dracula THROUGH sacrificing Simon Belmont+
mariosantos.bsky.social
SO, here's the condensed idea of Simon's Quest's storyline:

Simon fought Dracula 7 years ago, and now he's dying. When he ponders his death at the cemetery of his family, a mystery woman appears and tells Simon that he's cursed, that curse is fueling the return of Dracula+
mariosantos.bsky.social
You actually got the idea exactly correct. Simon is instructed to destroy Dracula's body parts so that will stop him from returning forever, and that will also undo the curse.

At no point is Simon told to resurrect Dracula. Ever.
