T Kingfisher is releasing a new book in her Paladin series in the World of the Temple of the White Rat. Don’t even know or care what it’s about yet. Bought/preordered the digital book without reading the synopsis and will buy the physical book as soon as it’s available. This news has made my year.
IT’S PREORDER TIME!

Just finished up Record of a Spaceborn Few by Becky Chambers, book 3 of her Wayfarer series. I keep trying to read spooky books this month, but darn it if this series isn’t consuming me body and soul. Wonderful slice of life cozy sci fi read I would recommend everyone read.

Recently read Thornhedge by T Kingfisher. It’s a Sleeping Beauty retelling told from a little Toadling’s perspective and like most of these author’s books, it was a five star read for me. Treat yourself this week and pick it up. It will not disappoint.

Just finished The Daughter of Doctor Moreau by Silvia Moreno Garcia. It’s a feminist and anti-colonial take on the original HG Wells tale. It’s a bit of a slow start but I really enjoyed where it went. I liked this better than her Mexican Gothic

Following all the Gladys antics made me want to reread a Christopher Moore classic: Fluke or I know why the winged whale sings. Not a fave of mine like A Dirty Job, Bloodsucking Fiends l, You Suck or the holiday classic that is The Stupidest Angel, but as with all his books it was a fun read.

Could you think of a more stereotypical American image than tumbleweed?
I’m reading Thistlefoot by Nethercott I found out tumbleweed is actually Russian Thistle. America = immigrants.

Just finished Red White and Royal Blue by Casey Mcquisiton as a holiday read (Independence Day in the US). It’s a cute sappy romcom between the son of America’s first female prez and a British prince that leaves you feeling happy and hopeful about what the world could be.
